Our Story
While visiting the coasts of Ecuador we noticed the abundance of Palo Santo trees on the tropical dry forests. Entire communities base their economy on the harvesting and trading of this sacred wood. Unfortunately, many of the practices are not sustainable and are destroying this beautiful and rich ecosystem.
That was when the idea of a conscious production and harvesting of this tree came about.
Proyecto UMO® works alongside local farmers practicing fair trade for their harvest, fomenting sustainable business practices that will benefit their community, their environment, and their economy.
